General & Health Counselling, Mediation Consultancy offer prospective clients an Assessment Interview for the first hour so as to gather pertinent background information that will be of assistance to them in understanding the client present set of circumstances. This assessment interview will be followed by the second hour involving a first counselling session. These two hours allows both you and your counsellor the opportunity to consider whether you both want to continue working together further. It is equally important that you feel comfortable with your therapist, as it is that your therapist feels comfortable being able to work with you. If you both decide to work together, an agreed number of scheduled session will be arranged.
There is no obligation to attend all the sessions arranged, and you are free to terminate at any time. Should this happen cancellation needs to be made with 48 hours /or seven days notice given. A review session will take place at the end of the agreed number of sessions so we can jointly assess your progress and what further action if any may be required.
If at the Assessment Interview you and /or your therapist decide you are unable to work together, your therapist will usually be able to provide details of an alternative therapist or agency.
Each session last for one hour and if you are late arriving your counsellor/therapist will terminate at the pre-arranged time so as not to delay the next person. We leave 15 minutes between sessions to allow our clients the opportunity to remain anonymous. GHCMC see their clients during the following business hours:
Monday to Friday from 9.00am until 9.00pm in evening
Saturday & Sunday from 9.00am until 6.00pm in evening.
When it comes to professional boundaries GHCMC will take responsibility towards their clients by setting and monitoring boundaries throughout the service provided. GHCMC will make it explicitly clear to clients that their service offers a formal and contractual therapeutic relationship and nothing else.
