General & Health Counselling, Mediation & Consultancy understands that employment is very important for many people. Apart from being a means of survival, it is the area in which most people spend about a third of their time. It is also the area in their lives where they seek a great deal of purpose, fulfilment and opportunity for self enhancement and development.

GHCMC understand that the workplace can be a place where employees at all levels both vertically and horizontally bring or experience problems of a personal or work-related nature. These problems are known to impact on the daily operational basis of a business or organisation. The effects created by having personal or work -related difficulties, or a mixture of the two, brought into the workplace is a loss of productivity and profits. This includes absenteeism and people arriving late for work, decreased motivation to fulfil work obligations by work not being completed or of a required standard, the existence of negative and inflexible attitudes and distorted perceptions of the existing situation. Furthermore, there is a risk of lost opportunities within the business organisation, and its progress in the marketplace with respect to products and services. The effects can also produce workplace accidents or incidents and a polarisation between staff within the organisation’s system of hierarchy, making it difficult to enhance a company’s image and vision in the marketplace due to people’s distorted perception of the organisation.

GHCMC are able to assist those businesses and organisations through its employee assistance program by helping staff overcome those difficulties that challenge them personally or professionally whilst at work.
