About Us

History & Training

General & Health Counselling, Mediation & Consultancy practice commenced in January 2004. It’s Principal, Stephen R. King - commenced his counselling career as a nursing practitioner. Stephen’s career then diverged after completing his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1997 and his Masters Degree in Behavioural Health Science at Sydney University in 2000. Since 2000, Stephen has been working as a Clinical Counsellor & Psychotherapist. Stephen preserves his level of competency by engaging in annual professional development and supervision to maintain high therapeutic standards. Stephen’s health professional career has gained him over 30 years of expert experience in both the General and Mental Health Fields within the Public & Private Health Sectors.

Accreditation

Stephen King, the Principal of General & Health Counselling, Mediation & Consultancy, is a recognised and accredited member of the following professional associations:

Registered Clinical Member of the Australian Counselling Association;
Professional Affiliate of Australian Psychological Society;
Australian Counselling Association Registered Counselling Supervisor.

Indemnity & Public Insurance:

As an Allied Health Service Provider, General & Health Counselling, Mediation & Consultancy carries the necessary indemnity insurance to cover any issue that may arise due to allegations made in the course of its work with clients. It also carries public liability insurance necessary to cover possible unforeseen and accidental circumstances that may be of an uncontrollable nature.
